Gretchen Farrell
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Gretchen Farrell is the founder and principal designer of Gretchen Farrell Interiors, a boutique design studio based in North Salem, New York. Specializing in residential interior design and decoration, her interiors are understated and inviting, relaxed yet refined. Inspired by her client’s lifestyles, their personal collections, and sentiments, Gretchen approaches each project with their unique needs and desires in mind. Whether transforming mid-century ranches or crafting English-inspired cottages, her work is rooted in a sense of place and timeless, classic design.
Prior to launching her eponymous firm in 2018, Gretchen studied at Parsons School of Design and worked under Manhattan-based acclaimed decorator Thomas Jayne of Jayne Design Studio. Originally from Georgia and a New Yorker for 20 years, Gretchen’s designs beautifully blend her warm southern heritage with east coast polish.
Currently, GFI is working on a farm estate in Bedford, NY, a colonial revival on the Connecticut Sound, and the decoration of an Upper East Side townhouse. She recently completed a historic country estate in her home state of Georgia, a renovation of a 19th century schoolhouse in upper Westchester, and modern colonial-style renovation in Waccabuc, NY. Her work has been featured in publications such as Luxe Interiors + Design, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens and Livingetc.
